Reeve becomes Routh

Superman is probably my favourite movie of all time, so it was with mixed feelings of dread and excitement that I went along to see Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. Especially knowing that he chose to continue in the same vein as the first two movies, rather than taking things in a different direction. Thankfully though, I really think he's done a great job, and it manages to work as a continuation, without feeling totally trapped by Richard Donner's striking version, or within a different era.

Brandon Routh will never embody the character as much as Christopher Reeve did for the six year old me, but I think he does really well in the role all the same...
