Frog Study

This is just a sketch I've been working on from a photo I took a few weeks ago. It wasn't done for any particular reason, but merging the pencil drawing into the enhanced colours just seemed to work:

Holding on to Summer

To launch the new site, and comiserate the end of summer, I've just completed the above illustration. It's a celebration of those 'carefree' summer sports, but eveyone will know just how competitive they can (and often do) become. I dunno...maybe I'm just playing Frisbee with the wrong crowd...

And of course it's also a gentle nod in the direction of Renaissance art. Because it just seemed to fit...

Anyways, I hope you like the new piece (let me know if you'd like a print), and I hope you like the updated site design. Please enjoy!

Personalspaceinvaders is no More

Personalspaceinvaders.co.uk and me go way back. It's actually a pseudonym I worked under at University with a couple of friends, and while I was employed as a web designer, it became my 'playground', or whatever you want to call it. But after a couple of years freelancing (and over a whole year full-time), considering that I only really work under my own name, it's finally time to call time/call it a day. No big deal really, but just in case any of you were wondering. From now on I'll point it here, which is my blog and portfolio. But you never know...when the time is right, it might return...

20:20 Visions

Computer Arts Projects commissioned me to interview and profile 20 different up-and-coming illustrators for their latest issue (89). Dealing with so many people required plenty of organisation, but the whole thing ran pretty smoothly all things considered, and it was great to speak to so many talented people with such different styles.
