Playstation 3 Site Design

Now that's not the kind of blog title I ever expected to be writing when I first went freelance, I have to admit. You won't have to have seen much of my illustration work to know that I'm (understatement alert!) kinda into my videogames, so it was proper exciting to get asked by LBI if I'd like to work on the official PS3 site for the European launch - the This Is Living campaign.

My main job was to design the HTML site (ie the accessible counterpart to the main flash site) in collaboration with the art director, for desktop machines, and also for both the PSP ancd PS3 browsers.

Here's the homepage as seen on a desktop machine:

One of the internal pages:

I also created the stylised 'illustrations' of the main characters:

And here's the site up and running on the PSP:

In addition I created several assets which are scattered throughout the full flash site. I'm not going to go into them here, but overall it was a great project to be involved in, and not just because I came third in the Ridge Racer Championships. Yay!

Shout outs to all at LBi, and Esther in particular, for the opportunity.

Mmmmm....Tortillas

Just launched in the last couple of weeks was the new Discovery Foods website, which I designed at the request of Fivesite.

It was good to create something a little weathered and edgy (literally at least if not in any other sense!) rather than going all 'web 2.0' again, with the reflective buttons and so on. Although to clarify, I just mean that in purely graphical terms - the coding itself is as web 2.0 as you could possibly wish for!

Charlotte Hatherley Interview

Okay so this is a bit of an old one, but in the hectic flurry of work over the last couple of months I just didn't get chance to post it. Way way back in January I got the chance to sit down with the lovely Charlotte Hatherley to talk about her new album, the Deep Blue. Which is very nice by the way if you haven't checked it out yet.

Anyway, the interview then became the first ever (drumroll...) Audiosurgeon Special, and hopefully you'll find it worth a listen.
