Computer Arts Projects, and Hello 2009!

Happy New Year everyone - hope you had a good break. Yeah I know it's already the 11th - let's just say I'm having a slow start to the year! The first piece of news to share with you is a small contribution to the 119th issue of Computer Arts Projects, which is all about seeing what design trends might catch on this year.

As a rule I think pursuing trends is to be avoided by any self-respecting designer, and that people really need to follow their own path. That said, one trend I'd really like to see is a return to proper illustrated/designed movie posters, rather than the identikit ones we are bombarded with all the time, especially for rom-coms. As such, they kindly included the flyer I designed last Halloween for Edgar Wright's residence at the New Beverly cinema in LA. Anyway, there's some good stuff in the issue and it's available now!
